5-Minute Sight Words ("the app") is operated by Sara Hillyer. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it's used.
Information We Collect
Parent account information: When a parent creates an account, we collect an email address and password. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
Child profile information: A parent-entered first name and reading level for their child.
Practice activity: Which words a child has practiced or mastered, daily practice streaks, and session history — all tied to the parent's account, used to track progress over time.
We do not knowingly collect any information directly from children. All information is entered and managed by the parent through their own account.
How We Use Information
Information collected is used only to operate the app itself: signing you in, saving your child's progress and streak between sessions, and letting that progress sync across your devices. We do not use it for advertising.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. Data is stored with Supabase, our backend database provider, which stores data securely on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.
Data Retention & Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at sara@hillyeraccounting.com. We will delete it within 30 days of your request.
Children's Privacy
This app is intended for use by children under the supervision of a parent, who creates and controls the account. We comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including COPPA. If you are a parent and have questions about your child's information, contact us at the email below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
