PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: August 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you play our multiplayer virtual reality (VR) horror game distributed on the Meta Quest App Lab, including your use of the in-game voice chat (VC) features and multiplayer backend services.
Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access or play the game.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information that is necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve your multiplayer VR gameplay experience.
Voice Chat Data (Photon Voice): To enable real-time spatial communication, your voice data is processed during gameplay using Photon Voice. This data is processed live in-memory and transmitted through secure third-party communication servers. We do not record, store, or monitor your voice conversations unless required for moderation purposes as detailed in Section 3.
Account and Profile Data (Meta & PlayFab): Because our game is exclusive to the Meta Quest ecosystem, we collect your Meta user ID, display name, and authentication tokens. This data is linked with Microsoft PlayFab to manage your player profile, save game progress, synchronize inventory, and facilitate multiplayer matchmaking.
Gameplay and Technical Data: We collect technical information through Photon and PlayFab, including your device type (Meta Quest standalone headset), IP address, network ping, performance logs, and in-game telemetry (e.g., player stats, matches played, horror events triggered) to optimize game performance and fix bugs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
To authenticate your Meta identity and manage your cloud save data via PlayFab.
To provide and maintain the multiplayer matchmaking system via Photon.
To enable real-time, low-latency, and spatialized voice chat functionality.
To detect, investigate, and prevent toxic behavior, cheating, or violations of our Terms of Service.
To improve game mechanics, VR optimization, and eliminate headset performance crashes.
3. Voice Moderation and Safety
To ensure a safe environment for all players in a high-stress horror setting, we reserve the right to implement reporting systems.
If a player submits an in-game report for harassment, hate speech, or abuse, a short temporary audio buffer from the Photon voice chat may be attached to the report for investigation.
Temporary audio buffers are automatically overwritten and deleted if no report is filed. Unreported audio is never saved on our servers or by our partners.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information with third parties only to power the core functions of the game:
Backend & Infrastructure Providers: We utilize Microsoft PlayFab for player account storage/game state management and Exit Games (Photon) for networking, matchmaking, and voice streaming. These providers only process data to deliver these specific infrastructure services.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, including Meta Quest platform enforcement teams.
5. Data Retention and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission and storage across Meta, PlayFab, and Photon networks.
Your account profile and progression statistics remain stored securely in PlayFab as long as your account is active.
Transient data, such as real-time network voice packets and matchmaking queues, are processed instantly in-memory and are not permanently stored.
6. Children's Privacy
Our VR horror game is intended exclusively for users who meet the minimum age requirement of the Meta Quest platform (typically 13 years or older, depending on regional Meta account regulations). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it immediately from our PlayFab backend.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page or via an App Lab store page update or in-game notice.
