The Beauty of the Dirty Water is a photographic exploration inspired by the New Vision movement of the 1920s, which championed unconventional perspectives and framing. By deliberately focusing on the often-overlooked and repulsive subject of wastewater and garbage in Phnom Penh’s sewers, I sought to challenge preconceived notions and inspire a shift in perception. Through experimentation with angles and composition, I aimed to uncover an unexpected aesthetic within this environment, ultimately sparking conversations about urban development and potential solutions for improving these neglected spaces.the broader tapestry of society.
