Hi, my name is Siddharth Jaiswal and I am a Ph.D candidate at IIT Kharagpur, in the Dept. of Computer Science, working in the area of Fairness in AI.
Prior to this I was a Technical Project Lead at Huawei Technologies, India, working with the Cloud & AI team on Big Databases, focusing on query optimization and database connectors.
Not so long ago, I was an M.Tech(Research) student at Dept of CDS, IISc, Bengaluru, India associated with DREAM Lab working on distributed graph algorithms. I was also a recipient of the Microsoft Data Science Fellowship at IISc for the duration of my degree.
I completed my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engg in 2016 from Tezpur Central University, Tezpur, Assam, India.
I play football and volleyball and am a huge supporter of Manchester United FC. I like photography, reading books and writing poetry. Albert Camus, Ruskin Bond and Khaled Hosseini are some of the authors whose works I love.
I have started my doctoral studies at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, working in the area of Fairness in AI Systems, in January, 2021.
I successfully defended my M.Tech(Research) thesis, titled "Streaming Partitioning and Distributed Analytics on Large Graphs" in June, 2020.
I have joined Huawei Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. as a Technical Project Leader in March, 2020.
I visited Riken Centre for Computational Science in Kobe, Japan to attend the 2nd R-CCS International Symposium and the 4th International Youth Workshop from 17th-20th February, 2020! I also got an opportunity to present a poster on my work on "Streaming Graph Partitioning". Check out the presentation our group made. Do keep a lookout for next year's applications!
