I really like experimenting with near infrared photography. It captures the reflected near infrared light only. The sky is black as a result.

Everything was shot in camera. No photoshop. I shoot in Raw mode all the time and switch between color and black and white as I shoot.

Shooting with an IR Filter is just like shooting through a welders mask. It lets in very little light and exposures are sometimes up to 30 seconds long.

Below are some near Infrared images of Big Thompson Canyon, Smith Martinez Park, Glen Haven, Colorado Before the last big flood. The last flood destroyed almost everything in the photos you see.
