Ruff House Rescue, Inc. (Long Island, NY) was once lauded as a lifeline for vulnerable animals, but what we've witnessed is an organization that has repeatedly failed the animals it claims to save. The founder and president, Diane Indelicato, now faces an animal cruelty hearing—a stunning fact that would end anyone's ability to run a rescue in a credible world. Yet here we are, in 2025, and Ruff House Rescue operates as if nothing’s amiss. The outrage isn’t just the exploitative chaos behind the scenes (animal neglect, financial smoke and mirrors, unauthorized adoption events, and heart-wrenching outcomes for countless animals), but that, with a criminal case pending, this operation is still allowed to shuffle animals through its pipeline while dodging meaningful accountability.
With a rap sheet of red flags that would sink any reputable organization, Ruff House Rescue’s continued existence is proof that accountability in animal welfare is broken. It’s time to shut it down—for the sake of the animals, for the volunteers who left in despair, and for everyone who values transparency and ethical rescue.
Shut it down, for good.
