Bio

I am a financial economist studying asset pricing and household finance. My research uses large datasets and both causal inference and structural estimation methods. The primary focus of my research to date has been studying the trading behavior of retail investors and quantifying their price impacts. My job market paper uses data on account-level stock holdings to quantify the importance of different mechanisms contributing to stock booms and busts. A second strand of my research uses state-of-art machine learning methods for empirically studying financial markets. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and received my B.A. from Peking University.
