Shubh Cards

Shubh Cards ("the App", "we", "us") helps users discover India's culture, mythology and heritage through illustrated flashcards. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Information We Collect
We do not require account creation or login. The App does not collect your name, email, or personal identity unless you voluntarily submit it (see Feedback below).
a) Usage & Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand app usage and improve the experience. This automatically collects:
- Screen views and navigation
- App interactions (e.g. category taps, card flips, onboarding progress, ad interactions)
- Device and app info (device model, OS version, app version, language, approximate location from IP, and an advertising/analytics identifier)
b) Advertising Data
The App shows ads via Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Google and its partners may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or IDFA), IP address, and app interaction data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads; iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking / App Tracking Transparency prompt).
c) Remote Configuration
The App uses Firebase Remote Config to fetch settings such as the shop link, privacy policy link, and minimum supported app version. No personal data is sent to this service beyond standard app/device metadata.
d) Feedback Form
If you use the Contact / Feedback screen, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. This is sent directly to our team via a private messaging channel solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not use this information for marketing.
e) Locally Stored Data
The App stores learning progress, preferences, and unlocked categories locally on your device using shared_preferences. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App
- Understand feature usage and fix issues
- Show and measure advertising
- Respond to feedback and support requests
- Enforce minimum app version requirements
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config, Realtime Database) - https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google AdMob - https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Slack (for receiving feedback messages internally)
4. Children's Privacy
Shubh Cards is designed to be family-friendly and may be used by children under adult supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Advertising shown in the App is served through Google AdMob; where required, ad requests are configured to comply with child-directed treatment settings. Parents who believe their child has provided personal information (e.g. via the feedback form) may contact us to request its deletion.
5. Data Retention & Security
We retain feedback messages only as long as needed to address the inquiry. We take reasonable measures to protect data in transit (e.g. HTTPS) but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Your Choices
- Ads: Limit ad tracking via your device's OS-level ad settings.
- Local data: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored progress and preferences.
- Feedback data: Contact us (below) to request deletion of information you submitted via the feedback form.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
