Consistent horn angles create a clean, unified visual across the band.
*Covers all brass and woodwinds
Every player should match the same horn angle, no matter what. This creates a sense of uniformity and cleanliness throughout the entire band.
Horns should be slightly above parallel to the ground.
Eyes forward
Arms relaxed, but controlled; elbows at a 45-degree angle
Horn not tilted or drooping
Horns Down / Set
Horn held in front of you
Bell should be facing straight toward the ground
Arms relaxed but controlled
Body posture stays tall
Eyes forward
Lift using core and shoulders
Keep the instrument balanced around your body
Bell should face forward
Head and body stay level (if you tip, so does your Sousaphone)

Keep the bell stable (no swinging side-to-side)
Maintain good posture
Match angle and height across the section

Comes up parallel to the ground
