Breathing is the foundation of everything you do as a musician. Tone, volume, control, and confidence all come from how you use your air. If your breathing is shallow or tense, your sound will reflect that immediately.
Strong players use their air with intention. The goal is to move as much relaxed, supported air as possible through your instrument.

Proper Breathing for Brass:
Most players develop habits that limit their sound without realizing it, including:
Shallow breathing, which is air staying in the upper chest instead of filling the lungs fully, leading to weaker tone and endurance.
Tension, which is when players either raise their shoulders or tighten their throat, restricting airflow and makes playing more difficult.
Running out of air too quickly is also a sign that breath isn't being used efficiently.
