Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Shreya Sonar, and I am a Sustainability Professional with almost a decade of experience in research, consulting, and in-house roles. Throughout my career, I have developed a solid foundation in technical sustainability topics, complemented by strong strategic thinking skills. I like to consider myself as a practical optimist with an entrepreneurial mindset.
I am honored to be recognized by the Trellis Network as a GreenBiz 25 Emerging Leader, joining an inspiring cohort of innovators and sustainable business leaders. Additionally, I have been acknowledged as an individual of extraordinary ability in the field of circular economy by the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) as a recipient of the EB-1A visa.
I currently serve as Schneider Electric's Circularity Leader advancing the company toward end-to-end circularity. In this position, I have developed a cohesive framework to unify existing programs and identified areas of enhancement. I embed circularity across products and services, explore new business models and partnerships, and metrics on material reuse and decarbonization. Recently, I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Authority Magazine on my experience in leading Circularity at Schneider Electric.
Broadly, I have also engaged in research on plastic pollution. I hold two scientific publications in high-ranking journals including the Nature Portfolio.
I am an engineer by training and have a Master's in Environmental Science & Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During this time I was awarded the Eco-Entrepreneurship Fellowship from the Bren School for new venture creation to solve environmental problems.
