Broadly, my areas of interest are: Metamorphic Petrology, Phase Equilibria Modeling, Geochronology, Geochemistry,
Formation and evolution (metamorphism) of rocks, and in turn the crust has always intrigued me. So I do research on the application of the the equilibrium thermodynamics and kinetics to understand the how and under what conditions, the observed mineral assemblages formed (pressure - temperature - composition: P-T-X conditions). It involves field work (lithological and structural mapping), lab work (petropgraphic study, mineral and whole rock composition analyses, geochronological analyses) as well as computational work (data analyses, numerical modeling). I find this entire process of reconstructing geologic history, occurring over millions of years, from present day field observations quite fascinating.
