Broadly, my areas of interest are: Metamorphic Petrology, Phase Equilibria Modeling, Geochronology, Geochemistry,
Formation and evolution (metamorphism) of rocks, and in turn the crust has always intrigued me. My research focuses on the application of the the equilibrium thermodynamics and kinetics to understand how and under what conditions, the observed mineral assemblages formed (pressure - temperature - composition: P-T-X conditions). It involves field work (lithological and structural mapping), lab work (petropgraphic study, mineral and whole rock composition analyses, geochronological analyses) as well as computational work (data analyses, numerical modeling). I find this entire process of reconstructing geologic history, occurring over millions of years, from present day field observations quite fascinating.
