Dr. Shreeganesh Subraya Hegde is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry with a strong passion for materials science, specializing in sustainable energy technologies, healthcare diagnostics, environmental remediation, and waste-to-wealth approaches. His academic and professional journey has been driven by a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and sustainable development.
Dr. Hegde earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, where his research focused on the development of high-surface-area porous materials for energy storage and sensing applications. He subsequently gained valuable research experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at IIT Hyderabad and as a Research Associate at IISER Pune, contributing to multidisciplinary research in advanced materials.
He further broadened his international research experience as a Visiting Scholar at De La Salle University (DLSU), Philippines, and as a Visiting Researcher at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Brunei, fostering global collaborations in materials science and sustainable technologies.
Dr. Hegde has authored several peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters published by leading international publishers. His research has also resulted in multiple granted patents, demonstrating his commitment to translational research, technological innovation, and the development of practical solutions with societal impact.
His current research interests include sustainable materials, biomass valorization, wastewater treatment, electrochemical sensing, and electrochemical energy storage devices. Through interdisciplinary research, he aims to develop green, cost-effective, and scalable technologies that address critical health, energy and environmental challenges while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dr. Hegde actively welcomes collaborative research, interdisciplinary partnerships, and academic–industry collaborations to advance innovative solutions to contemporary scientific and technological challenges.
