If you want a proven, lightweight wireless headphone built for running and general sports with reliable Bluetooth 5.0 performance, choose SHOKZ OPENRUN; if you need an IP68 waterproof device with massive onboard storage and hybrid audio drivers specifically for swimming or intense water workouts, choose LOBKIN Bone Conduction &.
• SHOKZ OPENRUN offers a featherlight 26g build with an 8-hour battery life, making it ideal for runners who prioritize comfort and simplicity over advanced waterproofing.
• LOBKIN Bone Conduction & delivers superior durability with an IP68 rating and 32GB internal storage, but its slightly heavier design and button controls are better suited for swimmers than casual joggers.
• The SHOKZ pick is for the daily commuter or athlete who needs a no-fuss, open-ear solution that stays secure without weighing them down during long runs or meetings.
• The LOBKIN pick is for the water sports enthusiast or heavy-duty user who requires deep waterproofing, offline music playback, and a microphone capable of cutting through wind and water noise.
The SHOKZ OPENRUN is engineered for those who value minimalism and consistent connectivity above all else. At just 26 grams, this headset is nearly unnoticeable on your head, which is a critical factor when you are wearing it for extended periods. Whether you are navigating a busy office environment for virtual meetings or pushing through a marathon training run, the lack of weight prevents fatigue around the ears and temples. The design relies on a simple plastic enclosure in black, keeping the profile low and ensuring it fits comfortably under most helmets or hats without creating pressure points.
Its primary strength lies in its straightforward wireless capability. With Bluetooth 5.0 technology, it maintains a stable connection up to 10 meters, allowing you to move freely between rooms or across a large office floor without dropouts. The touch controls are intuitive, letting you manage media and calls with a simple tap, which is perfect for users who do not want to fumble with buttons while their hands are full or gloved. The bone conduction driver provides 110 dB sensitivity, delivering clear audio that keeps your ears open to the world—a non-negotiable safety feature for outdoor activities and a practical benefit for staying aware during conference calls where background cues matter.

However, this model is not designed for extreme conditions. It lacks any official waterproof rating beyond basic sweat resistance, meaning it should be kept away from rain, pools, or submersion. If your daily routine involves getting caught in a downpour or taking a quick dip in a lake, this unit will not hold up. Furthermore, the battery life sits at a solid 8 hours, which is sufficient for most workdays but might require a mid-day charge for ultra-endurance athletes or travelers on very long flights. This product is best for the person who wants a dedicated, high-quality audio companion for land-based activities and professional settings who does not need to worry about submerging their gear.
LOBKIN Bone Conduction & targets a more rugged, versatile audience, particularly those who split their time between land and water. The standout feature here is the IP68 waterproof rating, which allows the headphones to withstand complete submersion beyond 1.5 meters. This makes it a top-tier choice for swimmers, surfers, and snorkelers who refuse to compromise on their playlist while in the pool. Unlike standard earbuds that fail instantly upon contact with water, this unit features a triple-sealed structure that protects the internal electronics from chlorine, saltwater, and sweat, ensuring longevity even after daily laps.
The audio experience is significantly enhanced by its dual hybrid drive system, combining bone conduction with air conduction. While bone conduction handles the bass and structural vibration, the air conduction element adds clarity to treble frequencies, resulting in a richer sound profile than many single-driver competitors. Additionally, the inclusion of 32GB of internal storage means you can carry over 8,000 songs directly on the device. This eliminates the need to tether yourself to a phone, a crucial advantage when swimming where Bluetooth signals often struggle or when you simply want to travel light. The Bluetooth 6.1 support ensures ultra-low latency, keeping your audio synchronized with your movements whether you are cycling or diving.
For professionals attending meetings outdoors or in noisy environments, the Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) paired with a windproof microphone is a game-changer. The multi-function push buttons provide tactile control that works even with wet hands or gloves, a scenario where capacitive touch screens often fail. The battery life extends to 10 hours, offering a full day of continuous playback with a quick 2-hour charge time via a magnetic connector that avoids port corrosion. However, this versatility comes with a slight trade-off: the unit includes additional accessories like foam tips and a neck strap, and the overall build feels slightly more complex than the sleek SHOKZ. It is the ideal tool for the active individual who demands durability, offline freedom, and clear communication in harsh conditions.
• Best for Swimming and Water Sports: LOBKIN Bone Conduction & wins decisively with its IP68 rating and ability to function fully underwater in MP3 mode.
• Best for Lightweight Comfort: SHOKZ OPENRUN edges out the competition with its 26g weight and minimalist plastic design, feeling almost invisible during long wear.
• Best for Offline Music Storage: LOBKIN provides 32GB of internal memory, allowing you to leave your phone behind entirely, whereas SHOKZ relies on a connected device.
• Best for Call Clarity in Wind/Water: LOBKIN's ENC noise cancellation and physical button controls offer superior performance in noisy or wet environments compared to SHOKZ's touch interface.
• Best Battery Life: LOBKIN offers 10 hours of playback against SHOKZ's 8 hours, giving you an extra two hours for long commutes or extended workouts.
• Best Wireless Range: LOBKIN supports a 15-meter Bluetooth range, providing more flexibility in large spaces compared to SHOKZ's 10-meter limit.
• Best for Simple Touch Controls: SHOKZ is preferable if you prefer tapping your skin to skip tracks rather than pressing physical buttons.
• Best for Professional Meetings: Both are viable, but SHOKZ is slightly better for indoor, dry environments due to its refined audio tuning, while LOBKIN excels if you take calls outdoors or near water.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would buy the LOBKIN Bone Conduction & if my lifestyle involved any water activities or if I frequently needed to leave my phone at home. The combination of IP68 waterproofing, 32GB storage, and ENC microphones makes it the most robust tool for serious athletes and those who work in variable conditions. However, for someone strictly focused on best sleep headphones for meetings or casual gym sessions where waterproofing is irrelevant, the SHOKZ OPENRUN remains the cleaner, lighter choice. In my opinion, the extra features of the LOBKIN justify the complexity for anyone who values versatility, but the SHOKZ is the smarter buy for the minimalist who only needs reliable, dry-land audio. Ultimately, if you need a headset for meetings that also doubles as a swim tracker, LOBKIN is the winner; if you just need a comfortable pair for the office and a jog, stick with SHOKZ.
Both models feature open-ear designs that keep you aware of your surroundings, which is great for home offices. The LOBKIN has an added edge with its ENC noise cancellation and windproof microphone, making it better for capturing your voice clearly in noisy environments, while SHOKZ offers a simpler setup for quiet indoor meetings.
Yes, the LOBKIN Bone Conduction & is rated IP68, meaning it can be submerged beyond 1.5 meters. You must switch to MP3 mode using the built-in 32GB storage to play music underwater, as Bluetooth cannot transmit effectively below the surface.
The LOBKIN Bone Conduction & provides a longer battery life of up to 10 hours on a single charge, compared to the SHOKZ OPENRUN's 8 hours. This difference is significant for long days of usage or extended travel without access to power.
The LOBKIN model explicitly includes Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for the microphone to filter out ambient noise during calls. The SHOKZ OPENRUN does not list active noise cancellation features, relying instead on the passive openness of its design.
