Hi, I am Shohaib Mahmud, a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia. I am currently working under the supervision of Dr. Haiying Shen. I am broadly interested in networked systems and machine learning. My research involves cloud/high-performance computing, computer networks, operating systems, and deep learning (DL) models. Currently, I am working on developing scalable and resource-efficient inference systems for the mixture-of-experts based DL models. My prior work involved designing communication-efficient training systems for static and dynamic graph neural networks. I am also experienced in conducting research involving big data analysis.
I am fortunate to collaborate with esteemed researchers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Microsoft Research.
