WAGO series

"The WAGO series," a three-dimensional interpretation of limbs depicted in Shunga prints, focuses on the interconnectedness of hands and feet engaged in intimacy within these erotic artworks. Kaneko pays particular attention to these limbs within the realm of Shunga expression, recognizing them as the most revealing aspects of romantic encounters between men and women. By sculpting only the hands and feet and transforming them from a two-dimensional plane to three-dimensional forms, the artworks accentuate the boundaries and points of connection in these relationships.
