One year ago, STAYC tried making Amezaiku in Asakusa. This time as well, we wanted to try something new, and decided on a “slightly early spring flower arrangement.'' So, despite their busy schedule coming to Japan, we decided to have STAYC meet us at a fashionable flower shop in Aoyama.

The flower shop's spacious plaza was filled with neighborhood children and people walking their dogs. While preparing for filming, the location shoot started with a heartwarming scene in which the members approached the children and said, “So cute!'' and tried to interact with them.

The challenge this time was to "Work in pairs to create a bouquet that suits the partner”. Partners are determined by pink string lotteries rather than the "Red thread of fate." Despite the short time limit of 10 minutes, the selection went smoothly and without any hesitation, because they know well each other!?

Isa: I had the image of calm, purity, and brightness for the bouquet for J. So white is the main color. To further emphasize J's fresh charm, I added pale pink and yellow for a focal point.

J: It’s so beautiful and wonderful! I like these colors too. I was very moved by Isa's selection of beautiful flowers.

Isa: The bouquets were quite opposite in style, weren't they? J made a bouquet with passionate image and I made a bouquet with a purity feel. I could feel that our attraction to each other was such a different thing.

Seeun: I tried to express Sieun's freshness, femininity, and calmness. The main freshness is expressed through yellow flowers. Pink flowers represent femininity and a calm atmosphere.

Sieun: I see. I can understand it by listening to the explanation. It gave me a feeling of freshness and calm. The key to the bouquet I made for Seeun is purple. Sieun: The word "LIT" means "best" or "yabai *[awesome; incredible]. Let's live a "LIT" life. This song is filled with the desire to live "LIT" with confidence. It's a fun and catchy song based on hip-hop with a bit of weight, and it features an addictive melody. It's interesting to express a bright atmosphere through hip-hop.

Isa: Yes, This is the first time STAYC has released hip-hop as the title track. I think this song was able to express a new attempt in a STAYC-like manner.

---- STAYC's performances are always cute, but please tell us the key points of the performance of "LIT".

Sumin: The point is that our hands and feet are very busy (lol). In the chorus, the hand movements are fast and the foot steps are detailed. I just thought of it, it might be better to call it the squid dance (lol) since I moves like a squid. J: I think the hip-hop feel is the key this time, isn't it?

Seeun: That's right. I wore tooth jam [sic]* (rhinestones attached to teeth) both for the jacket and music video shoots, and I think it matched the hip-hop vibe of "LIT". I think it was a big image change, and it was also a new challenge for me.

Yoon: I also tried wearing tooth jems. It was attached properly when the jacket was shot, but it came off during the music video... The other thing is my hair color! Sieun: In the music video, I am wearing a wig. I think that gave it a kitschy yet fresh appeal.

Sieun: I think it was the performance at “MMA2023'' (K-POP award ceremony/The 15th Melon Music Awards) late last year. We worked really hard! It was also at LIT that STAYC's "Bubble" won the music video award.

Yoon: I have the hair color I mentioned earlier. I have now changed my hair from blonde to purple. Isn't it LIT? Personally, I think it's very LIT (lol).

Seeun: When I came to Japan this time, I was packing my things in a carrier, and I was able to pack them properly faster than I expected, and I thought, “I'm LIT!'' (lol)

Sieun: I think it was a very challenging and fulfilling year. Before releasing "Teddy Bear," "Bubble," and "LIT," I was worried that people would like them because they were challenging songs. But all of our songs were loved by everyone, and because of that love, we were able to go on a world tour.

---- How was the world tour?

Isa: Our fans were very passionate. Actually, I was excited because it was my first world tour and I visited many places for the first time. However, the fans' reactions were very good, and we were able to enjoy it as well. It was a tour where I was able to learn a lot.

---- Are there any memorable episodes from your world tour?

Sumin: We stood on stage wearing the uniforms of the professional sports team of the city we visited. At a performance in Dallas, Texas, we were supposed to be wearing the uniforms of the Texas Rangers of the American Major League, but we made a mistake. I ended up wearing the uniform of the Scottish soccer team, Rangers FC. It's like we went to Scotland instead of America. It even became an article (lol).

---- For example, what can you do alone?

Seeun: I want to go on a trip by myself, and now my manager accompanies me when I go to the hospital, so I do little things like that.

Sumin: Basically, You are looking for freedom (lol).

J: I want more people to know about STAYC. Personally, there are many things I want to learn, I want to play many sports, and I want to do the acting I learned a long time ago. I want to try various things.

Sumin: I want to find some room time. In 2023, I was so busy that I had no time to rest. In my busy life, I feel like I've forgotten to take care of myself... So in 2024, I want to have more room in my mind, more room in my life, and more space to take care of myself.

---- What would you like to do if you had time?

Sumin: “I don't really want to do this!'' I just want to laze around in my room all day long (lol).

Yoon: In 2024, I want to enjoy my own hobbies. I've been busy with work in 2023, so I want to have some time for myself. I have a bucket list on my smartphone... (looks at smartphone) First, I want to learn shooting and archery.

Yoon: I'm interested in shooting, probably because my father Yoon is a soldier. If I do that, I think I'll get better at the game (lol). I also want to join a badminton club, study sign language, study Japanese more, go to a perfume workshop and make my own original perfume, and learn to play tennis again... Sieun: I want to enjoy every moment. 2023 has been a very busy year, so time often passed without me being able to enjoy anything. So from now on, I want to do something while having fun. Sieun: Nothing special but I want to enjoy each moment more, whether it's work or private life, rather than just being busy.

Isa: I was busy fulfilling my fixed schedule in 2023, so I would like to have time to develop on my own in 2024. I was really busy (laughs).

---- 2023 was a really busy year, wasn't it? Finally, please tell us about STAYC's goals for 2024!

Sieun: Full album! We haven't released a full album yet.

Sieun: We need to work hard on production. I would also like to release seasonal songs, such as a Christmas album.

J: I want to release a fan song too!
