STAYC, a six-member K-POP girl group that has garnered worldwide attention for their outstanding visuals, strong singing ability, and great songs, made their debut in Japan last November. Sieun: Actually, I went to Tower Records in Shibuya the day before our debut, and I was impressed to see our large photo on the wall and our CD on display. I even signed the photo! When I saw that, I realized that we really made our debut in Japan.

Isa: I was able to meet Tanaka-san [sic]* from "BLUE LADY" at the "POPPY" launch celebration LINE LIVE and Furuya-san for the first time at the showcase, and not only that, being interviewed in Japan like this makes me realize that I really made my debut in Japan.

Sumin: After our song was released in Japan, many people participated in the "POPPY challenge" and everyone danced so cutely, I am very grateful. We hope that this challenge will make our songs known to many more people!

---- How was your debut showcase in Japan?

Sieun: As I mentioned at the Showcase, when our performance started, everyone stood up as if they had promised, which surprised me! They also cheered us enthusiastically with fans and gave us lots of applause......I was really happy. When we commented or played the game, they gave us a lot of reactions, and I was very touched. The penlight especially caught my eye! The colors were cute, and just looking at the spectacle of the light from the penlights filling the venue was moving.

Isa: It was great that we could enjoy the showcase and finish it successfully. We were happy to be able to greet our fans, give them some hearts, and communicate with them from the stage.

---- Were there any incidents or happenings at the showcase?

Sumin: Actually, the prompter went out in the middle of the showcase. But it was encouraging to see how flexibly the members handled the situation. Sieun: There are times when we study Japanese together, but when we have time on our own, we each study hard. I want to be able to speak more by the time I come to Japan next time!

---- How did you spend your days right before the release date of your Japanese debut single "POPPY"?

Sieun: The day before release, I received a lot of interviews from various magazines and appeared on LINE LIVE. Finally, we visited Tower Records in Shibuya and saw where our CD "POPPY" was actually placed. I'm looking forward more and more to your upcoming activities in Japan!

---- Were there any fans at Tower Records?

Sieun: Yes, there were some fans at Tower Records, so we talked a little bit and they were very happy!

---- How was it outside of work?

Sumin: Since I came to Japan, the staff has been preparing food for us to eat, and I remember the delicious Yakisoba, Okonomiyaki, and Karaage.
