Shilpa Bandyopadhyay, a PhD (Psychology) from IIT Delhi qualified UGC NET-JRF in November 2016, and is currently an Assistant Professor (Psychology) and Assistant Dean (Training & Capacity Building) at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat, India.
Her doctoral thesis focused on understanding the aging experience, well-being and social media representation of older people in the Indian context. She has also worked in multiple collaborative projects examining well-being related constructs in India.
The primary areas of her teaching and research interest are Geropsychology and Positive Psychology. At JGU she teaches cross-elective courses on Body Image and Mental Health, Creating Positive Workplaces, and Appreciative Inquiry to undergraduate students and core courses on Foundations of Applied Psychology to postgraduate students.
Shilpa is also an Executive Committee Member of the National Positive Psychology Association (NPPA) and a member of the European Society for Research in Adult Development.
