All the the engines in the Shire are made from recycled parts, they start with a spark and run off compressed fresh air. The original compressed air motor was invented in the 1840s.

We found the plans for a similar engine in a barn and decided to give it a bash and create our own. With a bit of tinkering we eventually made our first few engines and vehicles. Oh what spiffing good fun
