CuriouswithAIM ("we," "us," or "our") operates the ShelfKeeper mobile application. This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app and the choices you have associated with that data.
ShelfKeeper uses Google Sign-In for authentication via Supabase. When you sign in, we access:
User ID & Email: To identify your personal library and sync it across devices.
Profile Picture: Used solely for display within the app's sidebar to personalize your experience. We do not store your profile picture on our servers.
We collect and store information about the books you scan or enter manually, including:
ISBN numbers, Book Titles, Authors, and Cover URLs.
Reading status (Library vs. Wishlist).
Timestamp of when books were added.
To provide its core functionality, ShelfKeeper requires the following permissions:
Camera: Used strictly for scanning barcodes to identify books.
Storage/Files: To export CSV library onto ShelfKeeper servers.
Haptics (Vibrate) & Audio: Used to provide feedback upon a successful scan (configurable in settings).
ShelfKeeper is designed with an offline-first approach. All your data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. This ensures you can access your library without an internet connection.
When an internet connection is available, your library is synchronized with Supabase, our cloud database provider. This allows you to restore your library if you switch devices.
We use the following third-party services to provide the App’s functionality:
Supabase: For database hosting and authentication.
Google Books / OpenLibrary APIs/ISBNDB: To look up book details via ISBN.
Google Play Services: For the barcode scanning engine (ML Kit).
Google Gemini Models: For AI capabilities
RevenueCat: In-App Purchases and subscription process.
These third parties have their own privacy policies addressing how they handle data.
We believe you should have total control over your data:
Delete Local Data: You can wipe all data from your current device via "Account Settings."
Account Deletion: Since we use Google Auth, you can manage app permissions via your Google Account or contact us to request a manual wipe of your cloud-stored library.
Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
