Shayna Parikh Melanoma Research

Throughout my time in the selective three-year Science Research Program, affiliated with Albany Medical School, I read numerous journal articles to acquire a knowledge in the metastatic cancer, melanoma. In my senior year at Montville Township High School, I conducted an independent research project to understand the effects of UV radiation on melanin production of the Pleurotus ostreatus mushroom species. During college, I hope to continue this research and connect my findings to melanoma.
