Welcome to Speech & Language Therapy at Sharp Elementary!

Hello and welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year. My name is Amanda Duncan and I am one of the speech-language pathologists at Joseph D. Sharp Elementary School. I am a native to southern New Jersey, and have remained in the area with my husband to raise our two sons.

I am extremely excited to begin a new school year, and hope that your family is excited too. This is my second year in Cherry Hill School District, and I am looking forward to working at Joseph D. Sharp Elementary School. I have been practicing as a speech-language pathologist for 11 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Penn State University, and my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Temple University. I completed my student practicum placement here within Cherry Hill Schools at J.F. Cooper and Stockton Elementary Schools. Following completion of my program, I worked with children for 8 years at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, primarily within the outpatient center in Voorhees, NJ. For the past 3 years, I served the speech and language needs of children within the non-public and public school settings. I am very excited to be a part of your child’s school program this year.

This website contains resources related to both speech and language services at Sharp Elementary School, as well as resources to promote overall speech-language development. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is aduncan@chclc.org, or you can reach me by phone at (856) 424-1550, x7823. You can always send a note with your child if that is easiest! I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

Warm regards,

I am excited to write you this letter to introduce myself as your child’s Speech Therapist! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Science from The George Washington University, and my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Seton Hall University.
