High redshift galaxies

The lensing magnification allows us to study with high detail the properties of intrinsically faint high-z galaxies that we would not be able to detect otherwise.  In our work, we studied the interplay of jets and the cold molecular gas, and their relative location with respect to their host galaxies . We performed this kind of studies in two spectacular lenses (B1938+666 and J0751+2716), using JVLA, VLBI, HST and Keck AO observations .
We find jetted AGN hosted by compact (optical) galaxies with cold massive molecular gas reservoirs extended on kpc-scales [see SHARP VI in Publications for more details].

Other works from our group include also studies of the content of the dust and molecular gas in lensed galaxies using ALMA observations [see Stacey et al. 2021]
