Puneet Sharma is currently working as a Professor at the Department of Mathematics at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. He served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur until December 2025. He also served as a faculty member at Department of Mathematics, IISER Bhopal for about six months after which he joined IIT Jodhpur as an Assistant Professor at IIT Jodhpur in 2012. He worked as a postdoctoral Fellow at School of Physical Sciences, JNU, New Delhi for more than a year. He received his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2005 and 2011 respectively. His research interests include Topological Dynamics, Symbolic Dynamics, Chaos Theory and their applications.
