About The Lab

Welcome!!! We are a community of marine biologists. We are located at the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong, Chattogram 4331, Bangladesh. The focus of our Lab is to study a wide range of marine microbes and invertebrates including gelatinous zooplankton, sea star, sea urchins, ctenophores, cnidarian, benthos, polychaetes, annelids, sea cucumber, tunicates jellyfish, bryozoans, horseshoe crab, and crab. We are also interested in marine fish, seaweed, and phytoplankton. We use DNA barcoding and morphometric characteristics to identify the specimen, study their ecology, behavior, physiology, systematics, biology, phylogeny and also many other experimental study running in our lab. Our goal is to introduce new specimens in the world, find something new, understand their behavior in ecosystem, and conservation of biodiversity in coastal and open seas. We are highly collaborative with fantastic researchers from all over the world. We have many graduate and undergraduate research assistants.
