“Shariat: Meri Zindagi Meri Muhafiz” is a conference organized by women for women. It is about exploring the exalted and dignified status of women in Islam, and to rise above stereotypes and Islamophobic rhetoric. It aims to address the responsibilities of Muslim women to apply the Shariah in our personal and collective lives.
This conference embarks upon the mission to give all Muslim women a complete model to apply the Shariah in all the facets of life right from emaan, Islamic characters, rights of people, selection of spouse, upbringing of children, Islamic solution to inheritance and marital discord, to Islamic economic system, justice system and governance system from the examples of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Sahaba.
Skits, dramas, exhibition, speeches and subtle models depicting all the facets of Shariah will be a part of this conference. The venue will also boast a book stall featuring English, Hindi and Urdu books based on the conference’s theme for the audience to take back home.
Shariah is deeply rooted in Quran and Hadith. It is unanimously believed and accepted by Muslims all over the world as a system of life, a code of conduct and a must to attain the success of Akhirah. With the rise of Islamophobia, Islam has been cast as irrational, incompatible with modern civilization, and inherently violent. This has put Muslims in a defensive position in which they constantly have to justify their convictions. In such an era of increasing uneasiness, sectarianism, materialism, blind westernization, apostasy and Islamophobia, it is our social and religious duty to remind the Muslims of their responsibilities to apply Shariah in their personal as well as in collective life, to present its true image to the fellow countrymen and to transfer this asset through the generations safely. With this purpose, 'Shariat: Meri Zindagi, Meri Muhafiz' has been organized for ladies of north Mumbai on 12th January 2020 at Mira Road.
This conference is an initiative that is the voice of the Muslim community reclaiming their narrative. It also provides the opportunity for all Muslim women to connect with each other so that we become pillars that support each other and the Deen. This single-day conference will be a revolutionary gathering that will inspire the attendees, revitalise the emaan and give the souls a rush insha'Allah.
