3 . You can't delete videos from sharepoint. You have to click the three dots, select Open, then open file location, then you have to find the file again, and then you can delete it, and the file doesn't have the new name you gave it in Sharepoint. Why go through so many hoops just to delete a video??

@Marc Mroz I'm pretty disappointed in the decision to pull stream UI back into sharepoint. You should have kept the UI the same but had stream pull from sharepoint if you wanted storage backend consolidation.

O365 has the "bunch of icons" problem, where only those who explore figure out what the random icons do. It's been VERY easy to tell people that stream is "youtube for our internal videos" and embed, share, and tag those videos across our orginzation.

Being blunt, I ACTIVELY encourage people to NEVER upload videos to Teams. Who would want to upload a video to Teams when it will be buried under hundreds of other chat messages in a few days? I've never seen anyone across multiple companies use Yammer. I don't have time to design an entire sharepoint site, I want to throw videos up and tag them together so if people want, they can dig deeper.

This is exactly how we use Stream as well. Extremely disappointed to see how Stream for Sharepoint is changing. It's a cluttered mess with no way to find finished videos. We want a platform that we can point people to find finished videos. Stream on sharepoint just piles together every video clip I have. Which is hundreds of gbs of footage! We want a video platform! Not just a video organization tool.

Every single video I have saved to onedrive has been migrated over to stream filling my stream with thousands upon thousands of raw video files. If stream on sharepoint is supposed to help with video organization, it is failing miserably right now.

Hi, In Command Center I have created an Office 365 app for SharePoint backup. I left basically everything default and configured 10 Azure Apps and 10 Service Accounts for backup. The backup, although very slowly, runs. Schedule is default (daily 9PM), I created 1 Office Plan and 1 Server Plan However, I notice the backup uses only 1 stream. What can I do to make the SharePoint backup automatically use more streams, or how can I divide the SharePoint sites (5000+) in something that would be similar to the SubClients in the CommCell Console? Again, I have not used the CommCell Console, only Command Center,

Thank you for your question. Although the SharePoint job appears to be running with a single stream, the job is actually being multi-threaded and will honour the stream value that is set. A couple of things you can do 1) Increase the streams value 2) Manually run backups on specific sites in parallel to the schedule backup job (Please ensure you run the manual jobs first before the scheduled job runs).

Hi iConsultant,

We noticed the same thing with SharePoint Online backups. Backup jobs only used 1 stream per access node. Commvault added multi-streaming support in FR25 version for SharePoint Online. We just did an upgrade to FR25 and SharePoint Online backups are completing much faster now.

Ohio University is gearing up for a transition from Microsoft's Stream (Classic) to Stream (on SharePoint), a new and improved video sharing and streaming service offering an enhanced user interface and accessibility across all Microsoft 365 platforms.

Stream (Classic) will officially be retired on October 15, 2023. From that date forward, all video sharing and streaming will occur on Stream (on SharePoint). Videos previously uploaded to Stream (Classic) will be automatically migrated to the new platform by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) beginning Aug. 7.

Open the file in the Stream web app. You can access from the app launcher (waffle menu), or go directly to stream.office.com*

*Note: You can also access a Teams meeting recording from the Meeting chat, click the three dots, then choose Open in Stream. Saves you a few clicks as you are redirected to the OneDrive video player and eliminates step 2 and 3 below.

I'm looking to achieve a "realtime" or "near-realtime" data updating for paginated reports and dashboards. For my purposes, the best way I can achieve this is through the office 365 and sharepoint integration that PBI has. I'm really wondering if its possible and how.

For my use-case scenario I'm managing a project which has a central excel file to keep track of a number of different aspects. I have the PBI Service refreshing this 3 times per day, but what I would like is to have it refreshing more frequently without having to click the refresh button. I have considered sharepoint lists opposed to sharepoint saved excel file but between these don't know how to get it into a streaming dataset.

And you can also make a program which call the api to get data from sharepoint list and then store it into sql server, then we can connect the sql server by using DirectQuery Mode, it retrive the latest data from sql server when report refresh (not dataset refresh), then the only thing is scheduled the program to call api every serveral minutes, it can achieve semi-real time experience. Please refer to this documents about the share point list api: -us/sharepoint/dev/sp-add-ins/working-with-lists-and-list-items-with-re...

Viva Engage (formerly Yammer) will be transitioning to "Native mode" in the coming weeks. Native mode will provide both users and administrators with a more consistent and streamlined Viva Engage experience. This process fully integrates...
