If you let Chrome share your location with a site, Chrome sends information to Google Location Services to get an estimate of where you are. Chrome can then share that info with the site that wants your location.

Recent version of Google Chrome includes a share link option in the address bar. I think that is useful. However, I cannot find how to change the links. I use none of the options listed, but I would love to able to use this to email links quickly. Is there a way to add more of these options? I have included the image of this option down below.

Share Me Download In Chrome

I called in to support and I was able to use IE as a workaround. The problem is that on the main "My Content" page when I check the box next to the item I want to share no "share" button appears at the top. Then when I enter the item details page, there is a "share" button but when I use it no sharing options are available (even public). I have updated Chrome to the latest version but still have the same result. I like Chrome as a browser so I'm curious if this is just a local machine problem. I also am posting so that others who may have my problem will have a clue if they run into this. Thanks

I'm looking for the easiest way to share a bookmark folder with someone else. Preferably without having to download software (unless it is a Chrome extension) or go through some tedious process. Any help is appreciated.

I thought the issues was due to having 3 monitors, but I disconnected both and still have the same issue. I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu and Google chrome, I also tried with chromium, and nothing.

After reboot Chrome, now the connection works well. Using the same test tools as before, now Chrome use the system selection window for share the screen or a window. Also Teams works well in Chrome over Wayland, and the black screen + mouse is now solved.

Workaround: While you are in the meeting, join the same meeting from another browser window/tab but this time as presenter. It will allow you to share things as expected: A whole screen, an application, Chrome tab, a specific window.

This is sort of a big decision.

So basically, if I need to share screen, I need to disable Wayland.

If I need the three finger gesture and the actual blue color in browsers, FYI solved it by disabling Hardware acceleration in the browser(Brave), I need Wayland?

For example if our shared function reside in sharedFunctions.js, the content script using them is in mainContentScript.js and the background code in mainBackground.js (all in the js subfolder) we can do something like this in the manifest:

Especially by installing libpipewire02 required for compatibility.

Unfortunately since yesterday, that stopped working and shows a black screen to other users in call.

If I uninstall libpipewire02 and restart pipewire.service and try to share the screen, Chrome crashes.

I downgraded pipewire to 0.3.21 and restarted my system (restarting the service is not enough) and screen sharing is now working again. I think 0.3.22 breaks some compatibility with 0.2

Any idea?

Thanks!

There are two ways that you can share videos with participants in Recollective's Live Video Interview and Live Group Chat Activities. Videos can be uploaded and shared as prepared items in the chat allowing participants to control the playback. This option is ideal if you want participants to be able to pause and rewind the video at their discretion. If you want to control the playback of audio and video for all participants, you can do so using screen share.

Live Activities support screen sharing for both Hosts and participants on desktop web browsers such as Firefox and Google Chrome. Google Chrome offers the unqiue ability to share a specific Chrome tab with audio.

To use Chrome's Share tab audio feature, the video must be hosted online and open in a separate Chrome tab before starting the screen share. If your video is already available online (e.g. on Youtube, Vimeo, or any other webpage), no extra steps need to be taken before your live meeting. Simply have the relevant tab open before you start sharing your screen.

If your video is not already available online, you can drag and drop the video file directly into a Chrome tab, or, host the video on your Recollective site using a Home page. We recommend opening the Chrome tab you plan to share prior to joining the live meeting.

During the Live Video Activity, hosts will see the screen sharing option on the bottom of the screen next to the camera toggle and chat button. Once selected, the host can choose to share their own screen or request that the participant share theirs. Once you have selected Start Sharing, Chrome will prompt you to choose what to share.

After you click Share, you will automatically land on the tab you selected. Once you click play on the video, you can switch back to the tab where the Live Meeting is taking place. The meeting interface will default to Spotlight view and you will see a preview of your screenshare in the center of the screen. The attendees' videos will appear across the top.

If you wish to return to Gallery view while screen sharing, simply select the  View icon > Gallery View. Click Stop Sharing Screen when you are ready to end your screen share.

The navigator.share() method of the Web Share API invokes the native sharing mechanism of the device to share data such as text, URLs, or files. The available share targets depend on the device, but might include the clipboard, contacts and email applications, websites, Bluetooth, etc.

The method resolves a Promise with undefined. On Windows this happens when the share popup is launched, while on Android the promise resolves once the data has successfully been passed to the share target.

Properties that are unknown to the user agent are ignored; share data is only assessed on properties understood by the user agent. All properties are optional but at least one known data property must be specified.

This method requires that the current document have the web-share Permissions Policy and transient activation. (It must be triggered off a UI event like a button click and cannot be launched at arbitrary points by a script.) Further, the method must specify valid data that is supported for sharing by the native implementation.

In Chrome, if I open a link in a new browser window (or drag a tab into a new window on its own) and choose that specific window to share, is there no way to access other open tabs on MY screen without these tabs appearing to the people I am sharing with? Note: I am only using one screen during these meetings

Situation: in my meetings, I need to open a link in Chrome and share only that specific tab for a short time, but it would be very helpful to be able to view the other tabs I have open while I am sharing WITHOUT the other parties being able to see this. I need to share my full screen with my participants (I cannot select only a part of my screen to share) and I need to be able to end my share and switch my participants' screen back to the meeting window without much interruption.

This can work with 2 screens, you just have to select to the screen you want to share and then do all other things on the second monitor without the participants seeing it. You don't have to do anything as Zoom should detect your screens, the only difference though is that, you will be prompted to select which screen to share when you hit share screen.

Only share your device with people you trust. If someone has your device, they can switch to any other Chrome profile on it. If they open your Chrome profile, they can see info like what websites you visited.

End Users cannot share their entire desktop when using GoTo Meeting In Google Chrome. Users can use the GoTo App, but for convenience they sometimes need to use Chrome. We have allowed Chrome access in Security and Privacy, Screen Recording. Still does not work. Only Tabs in Chrome can be shared.

I would recommend having the Mac user call or toll-free and working with one of our representatives, they can connect and see what is happening as well as hold a test meeting. Both of my Macs are running the latest MacOS 12.5 and I am able to share my entire screen so I am sure we can figure out a solution.

We have a wierd issue where users click a share link and if they dont have chrome open the link wont open. If they already have chrome open or hit refresh it opens. Anyone else seen anything like this and know a fix. It is very strange. It may be a chrome issue but it only seems to happend with Box links. e24fc04721
