ShapeWard: Idle Defense ("ShapeWard", "the game", "we") is developed by an independent developer publishing under Cobalt Path. This policy explains what data the game collects, why, and who it's shared with. ShapeWard has no required account, no required login, and no in-app purchases your progress lives entirely on your own device unless you choose to sign in with Google Play Games.
DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Your game progress (difficulty tier, cards, talents, cores, and settings) is saved locally on your device using standard Android app storage. It is never uploaded to us, and we cannot see it. If you use the in-game "Backup / Restore" feature, it works by generating a text code from your local save that code is created and read entirely on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
GOOGLE PLAY GAMES SERVICES (OPTIONAL)
ShapeWard offers an optional sign-in with Google Play Games Services. If you choose to sign in, Google Play Games Services may access and process your Play Games player ID and basic profile information as part of providing that sign-in. This is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Signing in is entirely optional ShapeWard works fully offline without it, using only the on-device save described above.
ADVERTISING DATA
ShapeWard shows banner ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google's AdMob SDK may collect and process:
Advertising ID and other device/app identifiers
- General device information (device model, OS version, language, approximate/coarse location derived from IP address)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) used for measurement and fraud prevention
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us directly, under Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can review or reset your Advertising ID, and manage ad personalization, in your device's Settings Google Ads. ShapeWard does not use any other analytics, tracking, or advertising SDK besides Google AdMob.
WHAT WE DON'T COLLECT
No name, email, or phone number collected by us directly
- No precise GPS location
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access
- No payment information (the game has no in-app purchases)
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
ShapeWard is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
DATA SHARING AND RETENTION
We do not sell your data. The only third parties involved are Google, via AdMob and (if you choose to sign in) Play Games Services, as described above, governed by Google's own privacy policy and data-retention practices. Since your save data lives only on your device by default, it is retained for as long as the app remains installed, and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the game changes (for example, if a new feature adds new data collection). The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the game after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
