Laodaoqian Street // 老道前街

Xuexi Jie 学西街, or “West-Of-The-College Street”, is named after its location west of the County College, once synonymous with the Confucian Temple 县学文庙.

Laodaoqian Street 老道前街 (“Old Yamen Street”), perpendicular to Xuexi Street, evokes an even earlier structure – the old Defense Bureau 右营署 – which used to be on the site of the Confucian Temple.
