I'm currently an Economist at the International Monetary Fund, in the Macro-Modeling and Monetary Division of the Institute for Capacity Development, where I'm involved in analytical work on monetary policy and macroeconomic modeling issues. I also deliver technical assistance on macroeconomic frameworks to central banks in different countries.Â
Previously, I was the Chief Economist at the National Bank of Georgia, where I covered monetary policy implementation and have been a key part in developing Forecasting and Policy Analysis System within the inflation targeting reform.
At the same time, I'm an Economics PhD candidate at the VU Amsterdam, with the PhD coursework provided by Tinbergen Institute. My PhD topic is studying monetary policy and financial stability implications of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC).
Last but not least, I've also taught macro and monetary economics at various Georgian universities.
My main research interests are: monetary economics, financial intermediation, CBDC and macro-financial modeling.
