Proactive Crime Prediction application analyzes existing intelligence and crime patterns from police databases and, using sophisticated algorithms, produces highly accurate data related to when and where crime is likely to occur next. This intelligence in turn informs patrol teams on which districts may require additional resources in order to prevent potential criminal activity.

It has been a major success in identifying probable crime location and time based on historical incident data. The algorithms used in crime prediction software utilize location, type and time of historical incidents as key inputs to the process.

For the upgraded version of the system, Dubai Police intends to use crime, cultural, infrastructure and cases data to enrich the prediction accuracy.

• Use Unified Crime System data including data from CID to enrich the prediction accuracy.
