About Me

I'm Shahroz Tariq. Currently, I’m working as a Research Scientist at CSIRO’s Data61 in Sydney, Australia. Before this, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at CSIRO’s Data61 from 2022 to 2023. I’m part of an amazing team called the Collaborative Intelligence Future Science Platform (CINTEL FSP).

My Journey I started my journey in the field of Computer Science with a Bachelor’s degree from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NU) in Islamabad, Pakistan. My passion for computer science led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Sangmyung University in Cheonan, South Korea, where I was guided by Prof. Heemin Park. The turning point in my career was when I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, South Korea. During my doctoral studies, I had the opportunity to work at the DASH Lab under the guidance of Prof. Simon S. Woo. This experience shaped my research interests and laid the foundation for my future work.

Research Interests My research interests are quite diverse. I’m passionate about Continual and Lifelong Learning, privacy & security, and fairness in AI-based systems. Recently, I’ve been focusing on developing human-AI collaboration-based solutions for applications in cybersecurity and other related fields. I love exploring the potential of deep learning and how it can be applied in different domains with minimal retraining. I’m also fascinated by the social impact of machine learning, especially when it comes to privacy, security, and fairness from a human-centric perspective.

Notable Works Over the years, I’ve worked on a variety of projects. Some of my notable works include:

These works have been cited numerous times, reflecting their impact on the field of cybersecurity.
