Shabat Mode ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the Shabat Mode mobile application.
Shabat Mode is designed to work locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
To provide its core functionality, the app requires the following sensitive permissions:
Notification Access (NotificationListenerService): The app reads incoming notifications to display them on the "Shabat Mode" screen. This data is processed locally and is never stored, shared, or transmitted outside the app.
Location Access: We use your location (Coarse Location) exclusively to calculate accurate Shabbat and holiday times based on your current city. This information is used only to trigger the automated schedule and is not tracked or shared.
System Alert Window (Display over other apps): This permission is used to show the Shabat Mode interface over your lock screen or other apps during Shabbat.
Exact Alarm: Required to ensure the Shabat Mode starts and ends exactly at the scheduled times.
All user preferences (such as selected apps for filtering or custom times) are stored locally on your device using encrypted/private shared preferences. We do not maintain any cloud-based databases of your information.
The app may use third-party APIs (such as Hebcal) to fetch Shabbat times. These requests are made anonymously and do not include personal identifiers.
Our app does not collect any information from children, nor is it specifically targeted at them, although it is safe for use by all ages.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new "Effective Date."
