SFMUN is an Model UN conference hosted by Lowell High School in San Francisco, California, that provides a unique opportunity for students from all over the Bay Area to participate in a simulation of a United Nations conference. When students choose to represent the delegation of a specific country in one of the UN committees, they join an ongoing conversation revolving around relevant global issues.

To participate in SFMUN is to participate in a public discourse and to explore the real world from a distance that offers both perspective and objectivity. Taking a step into the world of international relations during high school offers a chance to follow current events, and talk learn about issues that may be under-covered by media, or, at first glance, unimportant. Students will meet strangers they never would have had the chance to know, find common ground, and speak earnestly with them about subject matter that rejects the everyday monotony of high school. If you've ever watched global politics carry on and felt you had something to add, an idea, a plan, a solution, here is where you can realize that ambition and watch the fallout, among peers who can live in your imagined world alongside you. This is where the nations of your world become personal.

SFMUN welcomes MUN delegates of every level. Whether this is your first conference ever, or your umpteenth, there's a place for you in one of our committees. We have 2 committees at a beginner's level, 2 intermediate GAs, and 2 crises, one specialized and one pure crisis. We hope you join the discourse this year with us at SFMUN!
