Air Rifles - For Practice and Recreation Only

AIR RIFLES ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE USED FOR THREATENING OR HUNTING PEOPLE OR OTHER WILDLIFE. THEY ARE FOR PRACTICE AND RECREATION ONLY.

Air rifles are a great way to get the fun and excitement of shooting without the cost of ammunition or range fees. Today’s best air guns deliver impressive accuracy, power for hunting small game and pest control, and are quiet enough to shoot indoors. They are also a safe alternative to traditional firearms when shooting in places where you may not be allowed to carry a pistol or shotgun.

There are four main categories of air rifles – spring powered, precharged pneumatic (PCP), gas piston, and Co2. Spring guns use a mechanical spring to retract a piston which then propels a pellet from the barrel after it’s been depressed by the trigger. These are the most popular of all air rifles and are a good choice for beginner shooters. They are inexpensive to buy and maintain, have a high rate of consistent power delivery and are simple to load between shots.

PCP air rifles have revolutionized the sport of air rifle shooting. Many of the best field target competitors now shoot with PCPs that can fire a pellet at speeds over 1,000 fps. A tin of 500 pellets costs a fraction of the price of comparable quality firearm ammunition.

They’re also capable of taking small game such as squirrels, coyotes, and wild hogs when used with proper technique. And with the growing availability of hollow point slugs, it’s now possible to take medium size game such as deer and pigeons with an air rifle if you’re careful about your shot placement.
