St. Francis de Sales School Fundraising Walkathon 2026.

We are back at Deer Lake Park on October 9, 2026 for our all-school and community Walkathon!

Money raised will help fund various projects supporting our students’ learning and development–including our technology program, new classroom furniture and class field trips!

Root Down, Step up!

This year's theme builds on our school-wide theme of “Rooted in Faith.”  Like a tree with strong roots, we grow from the faith, families, cultures, and community that ground us. Our roots remind us where we come from, what we value, and how we are connected to one another.  

But strong roots also help us grow, and this walkathon is our chance to step up!

Every student who walks, every family who participates, and every contribution made toward our goal helps strengthen our school community. One step might seem small on its own, but when we take those steps together, they can make a big impact.

This year, we'll also be looking to some of the smallest members of our natural world for inspiration. Bugs and insects may be tiny, but they play an important part in keeping the world around us healthy and growing. Throughout the Walkathon, we'll discover how these little creatures can have a surprisingly big impact, and what we can learn from them.

That's what Root Down, Step Up! is all about: celebrating what grounds us while challenging ourselves to take action, support one another, and help our school continue to grow.

So lace up those shoes and get ready to step up. Small steps can make a big impact!
