OVERVIEW
Pattern Draft does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. You enter body measurements, and the app drafts basic sewing pattern blocks from them that you can view, print, or save as a PDF. Your measurement profiles and projects are kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Measurement profiles (up to 50). Each profile holds the name you give it, whether it is an adult or child profile, when it was created and last changed, and any of these body measurements you enter: bust, waist, hip, neck, shoulder width, back waist length, front waist length, bust height, bust span, armhole, upper arm, arm length, wrist, waist to hip, waist to knee, waist to floor, and crotch depth.
Projects (up to 300). Each saved pattern holds its name, the pattern block and its settings (style options, ease, seam and hem allowance), a copy of the measurements it was drafted from, the name of the profile used, adult or child, fabric text, notes, photos, and when it was created and last changed. Photos you add are copied into the app's document folder.
The app also stores your settings (cm or inches, paper size, fabric width) and automatic safety copies of this data: before the first change of each day it copies the previous data (copies from the 3 most recent such days are kept), and before an import replaces your data, a copy is restored, or damaged data is found, it keeps a backup copy of the data being replaced. These copies are listed under Menu > Backup & restore > Automatic daily copies, where you can restore them. Basic operating information is also stored: app-open count, whether the review prompt was shown, and cached advertising settings and the developer's other-apps list.
The developer does not run a server that receives your data. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and the other-apps list from Google Cloud Firestore; it does not upload your profiles, measurements, projects, notes, or photos there. When you open "Developer's other apps", app icons are loaded from the web addresses in that list.
PHOTOS AND CAMERA
"Add photo" opens the photo library picker so you can choose a picture. "Take photo" asks for camera permission and opens the camera only when you tap it; if you decline, you can still add photos from the library. The chosen photo is copied into app storage and is not uploaded by the app.
PRINTING, PDF, AND BACKUP FILES
"Print" opens the system print dialog. "Save or share PDF" creates a PDF in the app's cache folder, named after the pattern block and paper size, and opens the system share sheet. The pages show the pattern pieces drafted from the measurements used (their shapes reflect those measurements), piece names, cutting instructions, the pattern block type (not the name of a saved pattern), page numbers, and the 10 cm and 4 in test squares. They do not include the profile name, the measurement numbers, fabric text, notes, or photos.
"Export backup file" writes a JSON file to the app's cache folder and opens the share sheet. The file contains all profiles with their names and measurements, all projects with their names, measurement copies, profile names, fabric text, and notes, the storage locations of project photos (not the photos themselves), and your settings. "Open a backup file" uses the system file picker, and a copy of the chosen file is placed in the app's cache folder.
You choose where a PDF or backup file goes, such as a printer, a files app, email, or a messaging app. Once you send or save it elsewhere, that service's own terms apply. Files in the cache folder may remain until the system clears the cache, you clear the app's data, or you delete the app.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches, sessions, tab and menu interactions, app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. Events also record actions such as creating or editing a profile (with only the number of measurements filled in), opening or saving a pattern (with the block type), finishing a PDF share (with the page count and how many shares were finished in the session), exporting or importing a backup, restoring a copy, your App Tracking Transparency answer on iOS, opening the menu, the review prompt being shown and the system review request being made, tapping the review option in the menu, opening the privacy policy or "Developer's other apps" from the menu, an app-open ad being shown at launch (none of these carry extra details), and ad revenue reported by the ad SDK (ad format, value, currency and precision). Events do not include profile or project names, measurement values, fabric text, notes, or photos.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows banner, app-open, and interstitial ads, and a native ad in the exit dialog shown when you press Back on Android, through Google AdMob. Google may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location even though the app does not request location permission. The app does not pass your measurements, names, notes, or photos to the ad service. The banner ad is not displayed on the pattern draft screen, and the app does not start app-open or interstitial ads while that screen is open.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
Feature permissions: camera (only for "Take photo") and photo library access through the system picker. The app does not request microphone, location, contacts, or notification permission.
Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), Google's consent message (UMP) is shown first when the app starts. Personalized ads are requested only when your choice allows them or where no consent message is required; otherwise ads are non-personalized. If Google's consent check completes and reports that ads cannot be requested, the app does not request them. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown only after that step and only when personalized advertising is allowed. If tracking is not allowed, the IDFA is not available to the app or its ad partners. If the consent check fails with an error at any step (even after Google has indicated that consent is required), the app does not show the tracking prompt at launch and may still request and show non-personalized ads.
Where Google reports that it is required, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. You can change camera, photo, and tracking permissions in your device Settings at any time.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
On the Measure tab, open a profile to edit or delete it. Deleting a profile does not change projects drafted from it: they keep their own copy of the measurements and the profile name, so delete those projects as well if you want that copy removed. On the Projects tab, open a project to edit or delete it; deleting a project also removes its photos from app storage unless another project uses the same photo. Limits: 50 profiles, 300 projects, and 6 photos per project.
Deleted items can remain in the automatic daily copies until those are replaced, and in backup copies, which the app does not remove on its own. Exported PDF and backup files may remain in the cache folder as described above. You can also clear the app's data on Android or delete the app. Local data, including photos, may be included in an Apple, Google, or device backup depending on your settings (Android app backup is not turned off for this app); uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup.
Because we do not receive your data, we cannot delete it for you; for questions about data processed by Google, or for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below. Data processed by Google is retained according to its service policies and the app's service configuration. We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy.

SECURITY
Your saved data and photos are kept in the app's private storage, which the operating system protects from other apps; the app does not separately encrypt them, so protect your device with a passcode. Apart from the analytics events described above and files you choose to share, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Drafted patterns are calculated approximations of basic blocks, and the result depends on how accurately the measurements were taken. Print at 100 % and check the scale with the 10 cm or 4 in test square before cutting, and make a test garment (muslin) in inexpensive fabric before cutting your final fabric. We do not guarantee fit.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. An adult may store a child's measurements in a child profile; that data is kept and handled like other saved data described above.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
