Making your library browsable, dynamic, and inviting
As librarians we often talk about making the library “an inviting space for students”, but what does that really mean? How can you make changes and what can you include in your space to invite students in and make it a place they enjoy being in? We will share some of the changes we have made in our libraries (in both elementary and middle schools), such as genrefication, ditching Dewey, dynamic shelving, “trendy” displays, and passive programming activities, that have made a difference for our students. We will include resources for where to get inspiration and who to follow on social media to find out what other librarians are trying.
