This statement regarding the privacy practices and disclaimer (the "Privacy Policy and Disclaimer") describes how the collected information is used when you use the mobile app - 有拖冇欠/SettleUp (the "App"). When you use the App, you also consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. Please read it carefully.

What information does the App gather and track?

The App requires you to create a user account by supplying a user name and password of your choice. You may optionally supply your Hong Kong 8-digit telephone number, email address and/or the Hong Kong Faster Payment System (FPS) ID. These 3 personal information items are used for FPS QR code generation, and may be seen by other users. The telephone numbers are also used by the App to identify unique users for linkage purpose (for instance, sharing transaction data in a ledger among friends identified by their phone numbers). Therefore, all telephone numbers entered into the App by users during account creation/update are required to be verified by the one-time-password method.

All personal data and transaction data entered into the App are stored in a cloud database (except transaction data for offline ledgers, which are only stored in your device). User passwords, telephone numbers, email addresses and FPS ID are encrypted during network transmission and in the cloud database. The cloud database is solely used by the App and is not connected whatsoever to any other applications or institutions. The App will not transfer any personal and transaction data it collects to any other applications or institutions.

If you have any concerns when using the App, you can delete your account through the App at any time by a specific button available in the "User Info" function in the menu. Upon deletion, all personal information will be erased from the cloud database and you will no longer be identifiable or traceable.

The App is not recommended for use by persons under the age of 18. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their children’s use of the App and its features at all times. Parents are also urged to instruct their children never to make purchases without parental permission.

The App uses the following service that may collect information used to identify you:

Google AdMob

This service the App uses for advertisements may also collect some data regarding your usage. Some of your personal information, such as your Advertising ID, may be gathered by advertisers to display advertisements in the App that are relevant to your interests.

Disclaimer

The App stores data regarding financial transactions, and generates FPS QR code to facilitate fund transfers between users using their own applications that process such transfers via FPS. The App has no connections or any interoperability whatsoever with those applications that process fund transfers via FPS. It is your sole responsibility to ensure all personal and transactional data entered into the App by yourself and other users collaborating on the same ledgers are accurate and up-to-date. It is also your sole responsibility to verify these data before using the FPS QR codes generated by the App, and to verify again the recipient identity and the amount of fund transferred in your own application for processing fund transfers via FPS after scanning every FPS QR code. The App and its author will NOT be responsible/liable whatsoever for any wrong fund transfers as a result of using the App.

By using the App, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, please do not use the App. I reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy and Disclaimer at any time. Please check back from time to time to ensure that you are aware of these changes. Your continued use of the App will signify your acceptance of these changes. If you do not agree with any terms or conditions described in this Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, you should delete your user account and cease using the App immediately.
