I am associate professor (professor agregat), at the Economic History department of the University of Barcelona (UB). I have also been visiting researcher at the University of Kent (2007), the University of California-Davis (2009) and the London School of Economics (2016).

My research interests are the economic history of the welfare state and redistribution, and more generally the role of the state in the economy.

Currently, also teaching in the new Master in Institutions and Political Economy at UB: a research-oriented program at the intersection of Political Science and Economics, with a historical perspective of institutional and political change.
