At Serene Design Studio, we see architecture and interiors as experiences shaped by place, people, and time. Our work moves away from generic solutions and instead grows from close observation of site, climate, and everyday life. We value clarity over spectacle and believe that good design emerges through a thoughtful process of drawing, testing, and refining ideas. The spaces we create are intended to feel grounded, calm, and enduring, adapting naturally to those who use them.
Working in the Indian context, our practice is informed by regional character, climatic response, and local ways of building. We draw from indigenous materials, craft traditions, and spatial relationships, not as references to the past, but as tools to shape contemporary spaces. Through this approach, we aim to create architecture, interiors, and prototypes that feel rooted, honest, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
We believe
“Architecture is not about form; it is about life.”
Design, for me, begins with listening. Before drawing or making, it is important to understand the site, the people, and the realities that shape how a space will be used and lived in. Sketching remains central to this process, not as a stylistic choice, but as a way to think, question, and arrive at clarity. I am drawn to restraint and material honesty, and to architecture that reveals its intent quietly rather than through excess.
Practicing in India brings both complexity and responsibility. Rapid urban change often overlooks climate, craft, and regional character in favor of speed and visual impact. Through this studio, I seek to work with care and deliberation, engaging with local materials, construction practices, and spatial traditions while translating them into contemporary expressions. The intent is not to create statements, but to shape spaces that feel appropriate, grounded, and enduring, spaces that support everyday life and age with dignity.
