Operational and Exploration Requirements and Research Capabilities for SEP Environment Monitoring and Forecasting

The primary goals of the “Operational and Exploration Requirements and Research Capabilities for SEP Environment Monitoring and Forecasting” workshop are to highlight research advances in the SEP modeling and forecasting capabilities including, but not limited to, utilization of machine learning, to understand monitoring and forecasting requirements for SEP events from both research and operational perspectives, and to address supporting observational data and preparation needs.

The specific objectives of the workshop are:

Are you an active member of SPD and have been awarded a PhD within 4 years of the meeting date or are a student within one year of completing their degree? Please consider applying for a Metcalf Lecturer Award (three awards $1000 each) to attend the meeting! The relevant information will be available upon registration. Only the applicants with no prior Metcalf Lecturer Award are eligible. For more information on the award, please see the SPD General Policy for the Metcalf Program.

A limited number of $500 travel grants to attend the meeting may be available for the students and researchers with insufficient travel support. If you are interested in being considered for travel support, please register by August 25, 2024 September 15, 2024, even if you are not planning to submit the abstract.
