Youngkwang Nam received the B.S. degree in Mathematics from Yonsei University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1982, the M.S. degree in Computer Science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA, in 1992.
From 1993 to 1994, he was a Senior Researcher at the Systems Engineering Research Institute, where he worked on large-scale information systems and early database architectures.
He joined Yonsei University in 1995, where he served as a Professor in the Division of Software until 2025, contributing extensively to both academic research and curriculum development in software engineering and programming languages. During his tenure, he supervised numerous graduate students, published papers in international journals and conferences, and led several national R&D projects in software infrastructure and intelligent information systems.
He is currently the CEO of DHsoft Inc., where he oversees research and development in advanced software platforms and digital transformation technologies.
His research interests include programming languages, software engineering, information retrieval, databases, XML technologies, and digital healthcare systems, with a particular emphasis on applying software engineering principles to real-world healthcare data management and intelligent service platforms.
