Seongkyun Kim

Background

I am a second-year Economics Ph.D. student at Yonsei University. I am currently working on platform economics with Professor Jay Pil Choi, Professor Jong-Hee Hahn and Assistant Professor Chang-Koo Chi. Before joining Ph.D. program, I earned a Master's degree in Economics at Yonsei University in 2021 and Professor Jay Pil Choi was my academic advisor. Also, I earned my B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in Economics at Yonsei University.

I am mainly interested in questions related to understanding what direction the various activities of the platform, such as data acquisition, self-preferencing, and search engine bias, affect consumers in the marketplace. Also, I am interested in analysis of various economic phenomena using the global game model.

Along with this, I am working as a researcher at Korea Insurance Research Institute and researching the insurance industry in major countries including Republic of Korea.
