Seongkyun Kim

Hello, and welcome.

I am currently working as a Researcher at the Future Finance Research Office, Samsung Life Insurance. With a strong academic background and interest in economics, I am committed to conducting meaningful research—primarily theoretical work—in the fields of platform economics and financial economics.

I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Yonsei University in February 2025, under the supervision of Professor Jay Pil Choi, with a specialization in platform economics. Prior to that, I earned my M.A. in Economics from Yonsei University in 2021, also under Professor Choi’s guidance. I also hold dual bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics (B.S.) and Economics (B.A.) from the same institution.

In addition, I have experience conducting policy research at both the Korea Insurance Research Institute (KIRI) and the Software Policy & Research Institute (SPRi), and I have completed two commissioned policy research projects. More recently, I have also been conducting empirical research, with a particular focus on insurance markets.
