SEO Lens is a Chrome extension that helps users review on-page SEO signals from the currently active browser tab.


## Summary


SEO Lens does not collect, sell, transmit, or share user data with external servers.


All analysis is performed locally in the user's browser after the user opens the extension popup.


## Information the extension accesses


When the user opens SEO Lens on a web page, the extension reads SEO-related page content from the active tab, including:


- Page title and meta tags

- Canonical URL and robots meta tags

- Headings

- Links

- Image attributes

- JSON-LD schema

- Open Graph and Twitter Card tags

- Hreflang tags

- Same-origin robots.txt and sitemap.xml status


This information is used only to display SEO analysis, scoring, and issue recommendations in the extension popup.


## How the information is used


SEO Lens uses the active page's SEO-related data to:


- Display on-page SEO signals

- Calculate an SEO score

- Show prioritized audit issues

- Provide fix recommendations

- Focus highlighted elements on the current page when requested by the user


## Data sharing


SEO Lens does not send page data to external servers.

## Remote code


SEO Lens does not use remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, fonts, images, and other assets are packaged with the extension.

SEO Lens uses the `activeTab` permission to analyze only the current tab after the user opens the extension popup.


SEO Lens uses the `scripting` permission to inject a content script into the active tab so it can read SEO-related DOM data for local analysis.
