SentenceLoop Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 July 2026
SentenceLoop ("the app") is an English listening-practice app. It has no user accounts and no servers. All of your learning data stays on your own device.
We (the app's developer) do not collect, upload, store, or sell any of your personal information.
The following is kept only in your device's local storage and never leaves it:
Videos you add (title, channel name, duration, thumbnail URL)
Caption text, the sentences it was split into, and their translations
Your learning progress (current sentence and playback position)
Sentences and words you have saved
Your folders
Your settings (translation language, sentence-length preference, playback speed, and similar)
Deletion: deleting a video in the app removes all of its data; uninstalling the app removes everything listed above. We cannot access or delete this data on your behalf, because it is never transmitted to us.
The app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no tracking code. Specifically, it does not collect:
Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information
Location data
Contacts, SMS messages, or call logs
Photos, microphone input, or camera data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or crash reports
The only permission the app requests is network access, used to play videos, fetch captions, and download translation models.
The app uses on-device translation from Google ML Kit. Translation happens locally on your device, and your caption text is never sent to any server to be translated.
The first time you use a given language, the app downloads that language's offline model from Google's servers. This makes a network request to Google; beyond the technical information required to download the model, the app sends none of your data with it. Once downloaded, translation works fully offline.
Embedded YouTube player. The app plays videos through the official YouTube IFrame player. This means that while you watch, YouTube / Google collects data under their own privacy policy (for example watch history, device and network information, and cookies). That data is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and we have no access to it.

Captions. The app requests the caption text of videos you add, in order to split it into sentences for study on your device. Caption text is stored only on your device and is used for personal study only; it is not uploaded, shared, or redistributed.
The app does not download or store any video or audio files.
The app is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. As it collects no personal information at all, no such data exists. Video content comes from YouTube, and its age-appropriateness is determined by YouTube and the content's publisher.
Because your data never leaves your device, there is no transmission that could be intercepted. The security of the data on your device depends on your device's own protections (screen lock, system encryption, and so on).
If this policy changes we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
