If you want a wireless audiophile headset with adaptive noise cancellation and days of battery life for sleeping or long travel, choose Sennheiser HDB 630; if you need a wired, wooden-cup headphone that prioritizes natural sound isolation and home listening over mobility, choose SIVGA SV021.
• Sennheiser HDB 630: Delivers class-leading 60-hour battery life and active noise cancellation for total silence, but trades off the raw warmth of wood for a neutral digital tuning. Best for travelers and those needing to sleep without wires.
• SIVGA SV021: Features solid beechwood ear cups and a large 50mm driver for deep, immersive bass and excellent passive isolation, but lacks Bluetooth and active noise cancelling features entirely. Best for stationary home listening where sound purity is paramount.
• The Verdict: Pick the Sennheiser if your primary use case involves low latency true wireless earbuds for sleeping or commuting; pick the SIVGA if you are hunting for best hi res earphones for sleeping in a quiet bedroom environment where cables don't matter.
The Sennheiser HDB 630 is engineered for the modern listener who refuses to compromise on mobility or battery endurance. At its core, this is a wireless powerhouse designed for those who need to disappear into their music for extended periods. The inclusion of the BTD 700 dongle allows for high-resolution wireless audio via aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, which is crucial for anyone trying to get best active noise cancelling wireless headset for sleeping without being tethered to a wall outlet. The sheer capability to play for 60 hours on a single charge means you can take it on long trips or through a work week without ever hunting for an adapter. Even a quick ten-minute charge provides seven hours of playback, a feature that is genuinely life-changing when you forget to plug it in before bed.
Design-wise, the HDB 630 utilizes a 42 mm transducer tuned for a neutral, audiophile soundstage. This isn't about boosting bass artificially; it is about lifelike mids and stunning detail that remains true to the original recording. With minimal digital processing, the sound stays pure, offering a wide, natural stage that feels expansive rather than confined. The headband and leather enclosure provide comfort for over-ear wear, making it suitable for those long nights where you might drift off while listening. The Adaptive ANC is particularly notable here, as it blocks distractions without degrading clarity or dynamics. This makes it a strong candidate for anyone seeking low latency true wireless earbuds for sleeping, although these are technically over-ear headphones, the isolation and comfort profile serves the same intent for restful listening.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you prefer the organic, warm resonance of wooden housing, the synthetic materials and digital tuning of the HDB 630 might feel too clinical. While the parametric EQ in the app lets you shape frequency bands and filters like a mastering engineer, it still relies on digital manipulation rather than physical acoustic properties. Furthermore, the 470 ohm impedance suggests it needs significant power to drive properly, which the included USB-C connection handles well, but a standard phone jack might struggle. You should skip this model if you strictly want a wired-only experience or if you find the bulk of over-ear designs uncomfortable for side-sleeping, though the oval earpiece shape helps mitigate pressure points compared to rounder designs.
The SIVGA SV021 Pro takes a completely different approach by embracing the analog charm of solid wood and wired fidelity. This headphone is built for the purist who wants a dedicated listening station rather than a portable companion. The defining feature here is the closed-back design paired with real beechwood ear cups. Wood is not just an aesthetic choice; it suppresses unwanted resonance, creating a warmer, more natural sound signature that many audiophiles crave. When you pair this with the large 50 mm dynamic driver, you get deep, controlled bass and clear treble with excellent dynamic range. It is designed specifically for best hi res earphones for sleeping in a home setting where the cable is a non-issue, allowing for uninterrupted, high-fidelity immersion without the complexity of charging cycles or Bluetooth codecs.
Comfort and build quality are central to the SV021's value proposition. The reinforced metal frame combined with soft, ergonomic ear pads ensures stable support for extended sessions. Because it is a closed-back design, it offers impressive passive isolation, effectively reducing sound leakage and blocking external noise without needing electronic assistance. This physical barrier is often sufficient for light sleepers or those in moderately quiet environments. The sensitivity of 106 dB means it will respond quickly to even modest audio sources, though the lower 45 ohm impedance compared to the Sennheiser indicates it is easier to drive, albeit only when connected via the provided cable. It is a device meant to be set down on a desk or shelf, enjoyed for hours of focused music appreciation.
This model is clearly not for the traveler or the person who needs to move freely. The lack of Bluetooth connectivity and active noise cancellation means you cannot use it wirelessly, and the closed-back design, while good for isolation, does not offer a transparency mode to let in ambient sounds if needed. You must also consider the weight and the fact that it is wired; if you are looking for a device to wear while lying in bed without a dangling cord getting tangled, this might be less ideal than a wireless alternative unless you have a very long cable setup. It is best suited for someone who values the tactile feel of wood and the uncompromised audio signal of a direct wired connection over convenience.
• Best for battery life → Sennheiser HDB 630 (60 hours vs. no battery as it is wired).
• Best for active noise cancellation → Sennheiser HDB 630 (Adaptive ANC vs. none).
• Best for sound isolation without electronics → SIVGA SV021 (Closed-back wood vs. digital ANC).
• Best for portability and wireless freedom → Sennheiser HDB 630 (Bluetooth 5 + dongle vs. wired only).
• Best for natural wood resonance → SIVGA SV021 (Beechwood cups vs. leather/synthetic).
• Best for fast charging → Sennheiser HDB 630 (10 mins = 7 hours vs. instant wired use).
• Best for high-resolution lossless listening → Both, but Sennheiser offers wireless options up to 24-bit/96 kHz via USB-C, while SIVGA relies on the quality of your source and cable.
• Best for low latency true wireless earbuds for sleeping → Sennheiser HDB 630 (due to the lack of tangle risk and ANC).
In my opinion, I would buy the Sennheiser HDB 630 for the specific use case of sleeping. The ability to use low latency true wireless earbuds for sleeping (or in this case, wireless over-ears) eliminates the frustration of cables tangling around pillows or necks during the night. The 60-hour battery life means I never worry about it dying mid-night, and the adaptive noise cancellation creates a perfect blackout effect that the passive isolation of the SIVGA simply cannot match in a noisy environment. While the SIVGA SV021 offers beautiful wood construction and a warm sound for home listening, the convenience and active features of the Sennheiser make it the superior choice for a device intended to accompany you to sleep.
Yes, both models offer over-ear designs suitable for rest, but the Sennheiser HDB 630 is better for best active noise cancelling wireless headset for sleeping due to its ANC and lack of wires. The SIVGA SV021 works well for best hi res earphones for sleeping in quiet rooms where cables are manageable.
No, the SIVGA SV021 has a sensitivity of 106 dB and an impedance of 45 ohms, meaning it is relatively easy to drive directly from most devices without a separate amplifier.
Yes, you can connect wirelessly using the included BTD 700 dongle for high-resolution audio, or connect via USB-C for lossless listening up to 24-bit/96 kHz, ensuring compatibility with modern phones.
The SIVGA SV021 PRO is crafted with real beechwood ear cups and a reinforced metal frame, balancing durability with refined aesthetics for long-term home use.
