If you want a wired over-ear headphone with a spacious, open-like soundstage and premium build quality for long home listening sessions, choose Sennheiser HD 620S; if you need the ultimate in driver complexity and detail retrieval for critical music analysis or gaming precision, choose Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4.
• Sennheiser HD 620S: Delivers an airy, natural sound in a closed-back design with exceptional comfort for all-day wear; its trade-off is the requirement for a dedicated amplifier to drive its 150-ohm impedance effectively.
• Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4: Offers a quad-driver hybrid architecture that pushes resolution and bass impact to the extreme with a detachable high-fidelity cable; its trade-off is the in-ear form factor which may not suit those who prefer the isolation-free feel of large ear cups.
• Best for: The Sennheiser is ideal for audiophiles and gamers seeking a distraction-free desktop setup, while the SIMGOT is tailored for musicians and enthusiasts who demand maximum technical detail from a portable or stationary IEM rig.
The Sennheiser HD 620S is engineered for the listener who values acoustic transparency without sacrificing privacy. It occupies a unique space in the market by combining the isolation of a closed-back system with the spaciousness usually reserved for open headphones. This is achieved through a specific acoustic engineering approach that utilizes an open baffle system within a sealed chassis. The result is a wide, natural soundstage that feels less like wearing headphones and more like sitting in front of a pair of speakers. If your primary goal is to enjoy music, movies, or games at your desk without disturbing others or being disturbed by room noise, this design philosophy is exactly what you need.
Comfort is another pillar of this product, making it a strong candidate for the "long battery life bluetooth headset for switch" crowd, although it is important to note that this specific model is a wired device. The chassis is incredibly lightweight at 400 grams, yet it feels substantial due to steel-reinforced headband sliders and sturdy earcup architecture. The earpads are made of soft artificial leather, and the internal venting system helps reduce pressure buildup during extended use. Whether you are working from home for eight hours, grinding through a marathon gaming session, or mixing audio tracks, the design minimizes fatigue significantly. It is built to last, with materials chosen for durability rather than just aesthetics.
The sonic signature relies on angled dynamic transducers. These 42mm drivers feature 38mm diaphragms positioned to mimic speaker setups, offering precise stereo imaging and balanced bass. An ultra-lightweight 150-ohm aluminum voice coil ensures fast impulse response, allowing the headphones to reveal natural details across the frequency spectrum. However, this high impedance means the HD 620S will struggle to perform well when plugged directly into a phone or a laptop's headphone jack. You need a source with sufficient power, such as a desktop DAC/amp or a dedicated audio interface, to truly unlock its potential. If you have a setup ready to drive 150 ohms, this is a reference-grade tool for immersive games and multimedia. If you are looking for a simple plug-and-play solution for a console or mobile device without extra gear, you might find the power delivery lacking.

The Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 represents a different philosophy entirely, focusing on raw technical capability through a complex driver configuration. This is not a standard set of earbuds; it is a hybrid In-Ear Monitor (IEM) that packs four distinct types of drivers into a single unit: one dynamic driver, one balanced armature, one planar magnetic driver, and one piezoelectric transducer. This quad-matrix architecture allows for precise frequency response adjustment. The 10mm dynamic driver handles the low frequencies with a high-polymer diaphragm and long-stroke design, delivering powerful, detailed bass that integrates seamlessly with the other drivers. For the musician or the critical listener, this separation of labor among the drivers ensures that no frequency range gets compromised.
The mid-range performance is driven by a large balanced armature unit designed to avoid the artificial or thin sound often associated with smaller BA drivers. It delivers lush, smooth mids with high density, capturing subtle nuances like breath and articulation to make vocals sound deeply emotive. High frequencies are handled by a micro planar magnetic driver and a PZT piezoelectric transducer. The planar element offers low distortion and wide bandwidth, while the PZT extends the treble and ultra-treble to provide airiness and resolution. This combination creates a sound signature that is balanced and neutral, catering to those who want to hear exactly what was recorded without heavy coloration. The tuning involves independent sound paths with an RC four-way crossover to minimize phase inconsistencies, ensuring a smooth and continuous frequency response from 8 Hz up to 40,000 Hz.
Build quality and connectivity are also central to the SuperMix 4 experience. The housing is crafted from 3D-printed resin with a matte metal faceplate, providing both aesthetic appeal and acoustic benefits. It comes with a high-quality detachable cable featuring oxygen-free copper silver-plated wire in a Litz structure, which improves conductivity and reduces signal loss. This level of cable construction is typical for serious audio enthusiasts but adds to the overall weight and complexity compared to simpler consumer earbuds. The device weighs 0.27 kg including accessories, and the package includes a protective case, multiple eartips, and a user manual. While it supports Bluetooth connectivity, its true strength lies in its wired performance where the full potential of the 7.2-ohm impedance and 120 dB sensitivity can be realized. This product is for the person who wants the "best headset for switch" or any other gaming platform but requires the absolute highest fidelity available in a compact form factor.
• Best for immersive home listening: The Sennheiser HD 620S wins here with its over-ear design and open-like soundstage that reduces listening fatigue during long periods.
• Best for maximum detail retrieval: The Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 takes the lead with its four-driver hybrid setup, offering superior resolution in the highs and mids.
• Best for gaming spatial awareness: Both excel, but the Sennheiser provides a wider physical soundstage for positional cues, while the SIMGOT offers pinpoint accuracy for small sounds via its planar drivers.
• Best for portability: The Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 is the clear winner for travel, fitting easily into a pocket or case, whereas the Sennheiser is a desktop-bound companion.
• Best for comfort over hours: The Sennheiser HD 620S is lighter on the ears for most users, though the SIMGOT's ergonomic resin shell is competitive for in-ear wearers.
• Best for ease of use with basic gear: Neither is perfect for direct mobile connection, but the lower impedance of the SIMGOT (7.2 ohms) makes it slightly easier to drive from weaker sources than the Sennheiser's 150 ohms.
• Best for build longevity: The Sennheiser features steel reinforcement and a robust chassis, while the SIMGOT uses premium resin and CNC-machined parts, both promising long-term reliability.
• Best for cable flexibility: Both offer detachable cables, but the SIMGOT includes a high-end silver-plated OFC cable as standard, whereas the Sennheiser includes a standard 1.8m cable with adapters.
In my opinion, if you are building a dedicated listening station or a high-end gaming setup, the Sennheiser HD 620S is the superior choice for its ability to deliver a natural, speaker-like soundstage that feels expansive and comfortable. It is the better pick for anyone who wants to lose themselves in music or gameplay without the claustrophobia of in-ear monitors. However, if you prioritize technical specifications and need a single piece of gear that can handle everything from classical recordings to competitive FPS gaming with extreme precision, the Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 is the more impressive feat of engineering. Its quad-driver array pushes the boundaries of what is possible in a compact form factor. For me, the decision comes down to the environment: I would choose the Sennheiser for my daily desk work and long listening sessions because the comfort and soundstage are unmatched, but I would grab the SIMGOT for travel or situations where I need the absolute best detail retrieval in a small package. Ultimately, for a dedicated "long battery life bluetooth headset for switch" style usage where you sit for hours, the over-ear experience of the Sennheiser offers a more relaxed and enjoyable auditory journey.
Yes, both products connect via a 3.5mm jack. The Sennheiser HD 620S works perfectly with the Switch dock or handheld via the included adapter, while the Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 connects directly to the handheld mode or the dock's audio out.
You definitely need an amplifier for the Sennheiser HD 620S due to its 150-ohm impedance to get good volume and dynamics. The Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 has a much lower 7.2-ohm impedance and can run off many devices, though an amp will still improve the sound quality given its high sensitivity.
Both rely on passive sound isolation. The Sennheiser HD 620S uses a closed-back design to block external noise, while the Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 uses custom-fit ear tips and a deep in-ear seal to isolate sound. The in-ear monitor typically blocks more external noise physically, but the over-ear cup offers a more immersive internal bubble.
The Sennheiser HD 620S aims for a smooth, accurate, and spacious sound with a focus on natural tonality. The Linsoul SIMGOT SuperMix 4 is tuned for a balanced neutrality with a slight emphasis on detail and extension, utilizing its multiple drivers to cover a massive frequency range with high clarity.
